A transport revolution is underway in Tajikistan’s capital, as the first trials of the AKIA ULTRA electric bus—running entirely on electric power—have been successfully conducted in Dushanbe.

This is the first electric bus in Dushanbe, and its successful testing opens new possibilities for the introduction of eco-friendly public transport in the country.

The initial test drive was carried out without passengers, demonstrating stable and reliable performance of all systems. Currently, the electric bus is undergoing trials on Route No. 3, transporting up to 100 passengers. Each day, specialists analyze energy consumption, technical characteristics, and the adaptation of the engine to Tajikistan’s climatic conditions.

This project represents a key step in the modernization of urban transport, aimed at reducing air pollution and improving the environmental situation. The successful trials will serve as the foundation for the serial production of electric buses at the Tajik-Turkish joint venture “AKIA AVESTO”, positioning Tajikistan as a regional leader in eco-friendly transportation.
